Just a quick note this week to say I’m moving to a fortnightly publication schedule for now. I’ve started work on another writing project alongside Substack and want to make sure I still have time to write this newsletter as well as I can. I’ll be posting next Tuesday and every other Tuesday after that.
The other writing project? It’s a book exploring some of the same themes. Based in my own experience as a late-discovered autistic person and longtime meditator, it asks how we might claim an identity without being limited by it.
I’m lucky to have support from the Scottish Book Trust to help me write the book and have been gifted a bit of money to pay for a babysitter. And now we have an actual babysitter too. She arrived last week for the first time wearing a Minecraft t-shirt. Before I’d even had a chance to offer her a cup of tea, before she took her backpack off, she started a conversation with my son about gaming.
This made me very happy.
What I’m trying to say is, there’s never going to be a better time to get on with writing. And so I’m getting on with it. I’m hoping to write about the process here as I go.
